The 2012 Mexican National Chili Cook-Off charity chili challenge will take place February 10, 11 & 12 at Tobolandia in Ajijic, and again, we would like to personally invite you to participate in the fun.
Sign-up for the People's Choice Salsa and Chili Cook-Off competition is now open and we hope you will join us for this year's event.
Entries are limited to 10 for each day's featured competition and will be accepted on a first come basis, so please enter as early as possible. Your entry fee of 200 pesos is due before the event.
Friday, February 10th will be open Salsa & Margarita competition. Any variety of salsa will be accepted and judged by the public with cash awards, trophies and certificates awarded at the end of the day.Along with our yearly Salsa competition, the first "Best Lakeside Margarita" contest will be held Friday, February, 10th from 1-3pm
Saturday, February 11th will be People's Choice Home Cook chili competition. Any variety of home cooked chili will be accepted for judging by the public and cash awards, trophies and certificates will be awarded at the end of the day.
Sunday, February 12th is chili competition for ten local restaurant chefs. Again, any variety of chili is acceptable and will be judged by the public. Awards will be cash, trophies and certificates.
As in past years, we will furnish all tasting supplies: Chips, cups, spoons and of course, ballots. You just need to furnish enough salsa or chili to satisfy more than 500 hungry voters and it can be prepared in advance.
