DON'T MISS
THE 31st ANNUAL
MEXICAN NATIONAL CHILI COOKOFF--
MARCH 6, 7 & 8, 2009!

(For folks North of the Border, see our map and accommodations listings--
)

Yes, you better believe it--your Chili Cookoff Board is excitedly planning for an even bigger party than 2008's Cookoff Blast! (See our Photo Gallery!!)

Three days of music, food, margaritas, charros, and fun in downtown Ajijic from 11:30 am to 5 p.m. on the banks of Lake Chapala – the largest lake in Mexico. And to take place at Tobolandia, just 30 minutes south of Guadalajara.

When Ann Whiting, Lakeside resident, started the Cookoff 30 years ago, “It was just me, my kids, and a few people cooking up chili on the banks of the lake in downtown Ajijic.”

But has it grown. From an afternoon of Chili to a 3-day full weekend event that draws cooks and chiliheads from across the map to compete for bigggg pesos in prizes and the chance to get their name engraved on the big, big, trophy that proclaims they are the top cook in the Mexican National Championship. And since 2007 The People's Choice Competitions have become extremely popular--locals can compete with each other.

Watch this website for detailed information as the time nears... it's never too early to start planning your unforgettable vacation in Ajijic at the 31st Annual Mexican National Chili Cookoff!!
